INNOWAG PROJECT AT INTERNATIONAL WHEELSET CONFERENCE

On June 16th to 20th, INNOWAG project have been disseminated to a wide audience during the 18th International Wheelset Conference that took place in Venice, Italy. UNIFE, one of the INNOWAG project partners, organized the event. Lucchini and Politecnico di Milano were present during the four days. The International Wheelset Congress (IWC) was founded in 1963 by Lucchini. The event  is held every three years and is the leading technology interchange event for the world railway industry. The International Wheelset Congress is the oldest railway technical conference in the world. The congress attracts engineers, experts, technicians, academia from the international rail community. Governamental institutions, research centres and national/international associations are active part of the large audience. During the four days, INNOWAG project was disseminated through 2 posters displayed in the UNIFE stand, and through the distribution of the INNOWAG pocket leaflet produced by Newopera. People from Lucchini, UNIFE and Polimi provided information and assistance to those who wanted to know more about the project outcomes.

M2O PROJECT AT SMART RAIL CONFERENCE MUNICH

M2O - Marathon2Operation project was disseminated during a specific S2R event organized during the Smart Rail Conference in Munich. This event was organized by S2R and Trafikverket. Outcomes of 8 S2R co-funded projects have been presented, debated and investigated with professionals coming from different fields of the rail sector. Newopera presented M2O in a dedicated session, highlighting the first outcomes of the project and illustrating the steps to be fulfilled in the near future. Intense Q&A session was organized and stimulating debated between the speakers and the audience took place.

INNOWAG PROJECT FINAL EVENT

On June 17 and 18th 2019, INNOWAG project was largely debated during a specific session organized for INNOWAG within the Smart Rail conference that took place in Munich. During the conference, anticipated by a focused project internal meeting and an Advisory Board meeting held on the 17th of June, the different Work Streams in which the project is divided (Cargo condition monitoring, Wagon design and lightweight material, Predictive maintenance) were investigated and the outcomes have been presented to an audience of about 80 people coming from the rail sector (private companies, associations, universities, research centres, governamental institutions and agencies). The project results have been shared to the audience by the project coordinator University of Newcastle and by the different Work Stream leaders. Particular relevance has been done to the tests and to the sensors studied and developed throrought the project lifetime. During the Q&A session, questions have been answered and intense and fruitful debate took place. Two INNOWAG posters, specifically prepared for the event, have been displayed and commented by the INNOWAG partners. In a dedicated area, dissemination material was available. In particular, the INNOWAG leaflet summarizing the project objectives, goals and achievements.

M2O - Marathon2Operation project had its kick off meeting in Rome on December 17th and 18th. During the meeting, the objectives, goals and main features of the project officially started on December 1st, have been listed and debated in details, with presentations produced and performed by the different WP and Tasks leaders and by the coordinator Tor Vergata University of Rome, who also developed financial and administrative issues. The M2O Project Officer Lucas Garvia attended the event via teleconference.

TER4RAIL project had its kick off meeting on December 5th in the UITP premises in Brussels. During the meeting, the objectives of the TER4RAIL project have been listed and debated extensively, and all the WPs have been described and investigated in details. Newopera presented the WP3 "Arguments supporting rail" of which is leader. The involvment of every partner and the expected results have been presented by the project coordinator EURNEX and the other WP leaders, animating intense debate. Project partners, interested stakeholders, ERRAC members and S2R JU exponents attended the event.

INNOWAG AND OPTIYARD PROJECTS AT F&L CONFERENCE MADRID

INNOWAG and OPTIYARD projects have been presented and discussed during the annual conference organized by The European Freight and Logistics Leaders Forum in Madrid. The main topic of the conference was "Chasing change: are we building sustainable strategies?". During the two days intense and stimulating debates took place on issues regarding mainly the role of disruptive technologies and their impact in the supply chains, transport capacity issues, environmental/societal/political problems characterizing the recent years and the near future, challenges ahead and ways to overcome them. INNOWAG and OPTIYARD projects have been disseminated to a larege audience of high level professionals coming from all branches of transport sector, including important associations and institutions.

Marathon 1524m long train was tested for the second time between Lyon and  Nîmes. The train was hauled at 100 km/h by two EURO 4000 diesel Vossloh locomotives and carried 4036 tons.

Marathon 1524m long train was tested for the first time on the 300km tracks between Lyon and  Nîmes. The train was pulled at over 100 km/h by two Alstom/Akiem electric locomotives and was composed of  72 wagons. Marathon train was formed by two Kombiverkher trains regularly running from Germany to Spain.
